Abstract
Since nearly all older drivers have a sensory loss of hearing and/or vision, this poster will discuss how Orientation and Mobilty Training will allow a older adult with legeel blindness to remian independent within the community by learning non visual travel travel techinques and use of public transit options. Impriving the design of all pedestrian enviroments for pedesstrians who have low vision or are blind will improve access to the community for all pedestrians.

Increase awarenenss of different training options for older americans in being able to access the community as an individual who has low vision or a hearing loss.

The O&M Department at MCB has been outreaching and working with the MBTA and other travel training programs to promote safe travel using transit options over driving. The Department has also worked with traffic engineers around the state in improving the pedestrian environment for all pedestrians especially those with vision loss or blindness
