Abstract

This second report focuses on Project COBWEB's occupational health and safety research findings, based on primary and secondary data collected in Massachusetts. The sources of data used in our analysis include: A survey of 626 Brazilian immigrant workers. 147 worker compensation cases of Work-Related injuries reported by Brazilian immigrant workers to the Brazilian Immigrant Center, located in Allston, Massachusetts. All 16 fatalities of Brazilian immigrant workers between 1999 and 2007. There is no record of fatalities of Brazilian workers prior to 1999. Blood samples of 61 Brazilian construction workers, collected at the Brazilian Immigrant Center in 2006 and 2007.
