Abstract

Classical language education has changed little over the past three decades despiteadvances in academic technology and advances in our understanding of both second languageacquisition and human development. This paper proposes a modification to classical languageteaching and the classical language curriculum based on findings of second language acquisitionresearch, as well as factoring in observational data of students taking an introductory course inAncient Greek.
