Abstract
This workshop was part of the PEAAII and SAC AI Workshop Series at the University of Massachusetts Boston. The session introduced students to Git and GitHub as essential tools for software development and collaboration. Participants learned the fundamentals of version control, including repositories, commits, branching, push and pull operations, and pull requests. The workshop also covered best practices for creating strong GitHub portfolios, writing effective README files, contributing to open-source projects, and using GitHub to support professional development and career growth.
