Description

The integration of motivation, imagination, movement, and emotion vastly accelerates language acquisition and enhances greater internalization and comprehension. In this spirit-lifting session, the presenter introduces her unique rhythmic approach to teaching Chinese that provides the most enjoyable and motivational learning experience for all students. She demonstrates how rhyme and rhythm, when accompanied by relevant everyday language, can result in permanent language retention. Participants will snap their fingers and tap their feet while exploring the power of the three ‘R’s in language instruction: rhyme, rhythm and repetition. They will benefit by learning to use rhymes in all aspects of language instruction: vocabulary, grammar, speaking, listening, Pinyin and accent.

Lecture focus:

  • The skill of using rhymes for teaching, allowing the classroom to come alive
  • Helping students retain and expand their knowledge
