Call to Action: A Proposed Policy Framework
UPDATE: Read the full Call to Action: A Policy Framework for Women’s Economic Security.
A proposal from the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy (CWPPP) and the Conference Co-Conveners (see below) from the six New England states will be emailed to conference participants immediately after they register for the event.
Participants are asked to read the 2-page proposal before attending the conference and be prepared to participate in a facilitated discussion of the document at the luncheon tables. The conference co-conveners are interested in input from all attendees. After the conference, the conference co-conveners will revise the document based on participant feedback and email it to all conference attendees, as well as those who wanted to attend but were unable to come on November 7th. There will be a time-limited window for nonprofit organizations and private sector companies to sign on to the Call to Action and become part of a network of stakeholders through New England working to advance economic security for all women and their families.
In 2016, CWPPP will host the second biannual New England Women’s Policy Conference. At that time, conference attendees will discuss progress over the past two years, how to continue to work together, and how to move this policy agenda forward.
The conference co-conveners include:
- Permanent Commission on the Status of Women (Connecticut)
- Vermont Commission on Women
- Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women
- Permanent Commission on the Status of Women (Maine)
- New Hampshire Women’s Initiative
- Women’s Fund of Rhode Island
