Abstract
WHALE SHARK is a collection of poems about transracial adoption, queer domesticity, and the ocean as a site of personal transformation. This collection draws upon queer theory, Asian/American studies, and critical ocean theory. With particular attention to Melville’s Moby-Dick, these poems experiment with and subvert American canonical expectations both in form and content.
