Abstract
KEEPER is a collection of poems that explore varied definitions and experiences of love, home and faith. KEEPER is a collection about connection and disconnection, with oneself, others, and the world we live in. They are curious about the body: the queer body, the body of the beloved, the bodies of animals, of plants, of strangers on trains, of communities and the individuals therein. These poems are curious, too, about place: from the steps of a cathedral to the Keno counters on the corner, the poems explore how place impacts our experience of the present and past as simultaneous and intersecting. KEEPER is interested in drawing together the sacred and the mundane, a consideration of all the things we “keep” and carry.
