Abstract

This collection of poems explores multiple natures of expeditions of the human mind and body: both internal and external. Immigration, romantic commitments, family dynamics, death and self-identity are all considered, tied together by a recurrent folk narrative of Baba Yaga tales and explorations of the outside world. Diversity of form, including sonnets, a villanelle, a sestina, free verse, experimental free verse and rhymed verse support the multiplicity of experiences and voices represented in the collection.
