Abstract

The United States has a patchwork maternity and parental leave system with policies and benefits that differ from state to state and company to company. This has created a necessary opportunity for workplace intervention to provide employees with information and guidance in accessing leave programs. This capstone project seeks to create a program for companies to train their human resources departments in supporting employees with their benefit applications; informing them of their options at the federal, state, and company level with regard to family leave; and in crafting leave plans that are mutually beneficial to employees and companies. The program includes pre-delivery assessments, on-site training, and post-delivery evaluations to ensure success and employee satisfaction.
