Asian Studies aims to give students a broad knowledge of specific regions of Asia, by treating each region from the perspective of a number of different academic disciplines (Language, Art, History, etc.) .UMass Boston currently offers an extensive program - as well as a Major and two Minors -- covering the cultural region of East Asia (China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam). Programs devoted to other regions of Asia are in the planning stage.
